Rocky Ford Fire Department is seeking motivated, experienced, and physically fit candidates to join our newly created wildland program. Our wildland program is a fuels management and fire suppression program. The program operates a type 6 engine for initial attack and national response. As a wildland firefighter, you will participate in fuels reduction including tree cutting and falling, piling of trees, slash, area wildfire hazard assessments, and fire operations. These fire operations will include engine and pump operations, wildland fire suppression and prescribed fire operations.
